Sophie is an Australian dance artist, teacher and performer based on Kaurna Yerta/Adelaide, Australia.
Sophie trained at Adelaide College of the Arts, graduating in 2022 with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dance). Since graduating, Sophie has worked as freelance artist, collaborating with various local and international artists. Sophie also teaches and facilitates dance workshops with Carclew, Restless Dance Theatre and Fortuna House of Performing Arts.
In her career thus far, she has worked, collaborated and performed with Motus Collective (Zoe Gay and Felicity Boyd), DanceHubSA, Shifting Lives Theatre, Australian Dance Theatre, Alix Kuijpers, Tayla Hoadley, Isobel Stolinski and Alchemy Dance Collective on various projects.
Her practice currently works primarily with movement in context of constant exploration, following intuition, and inhabiting new physicalities and textures.
In February of 2026, Sophie premiered her first solo work “the great thinning” in “NEW ROMANTICS” quad bill (Alix Kujipers and Caroline De Wan) for the Adelaide Fringe. This show went on to win the Week 1 Best in Dance Fringe Award.
